An awareness talk and digital collage making competition for World AIDS Day by the Natural Science Association at Govt. College of Teacher Education, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram on 1st December, 2023.

Theme: "Let Communities Lead" - UNAIDS 2023

Programme Overview:

The Natural Science Association of Govt. College of Teacher Education marked the occasion of World AIDS Day on December 1, 2023, with a comprehensive awareness program themed "Let Communities Lead," aligning with the global initiative proposed by UNAIDS for 2023. The program aimed to disseminate crucial information, foster awareness, and inaugurate our association, furthering our commitment to scientific education and societal well-being.


We have started with prayer 
The event commenced with a moment of reflection and a prayer, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and compassion in combating HIV/AIDS.

2. **Welcome Address:**
Dr. Rajashree K., the Programme Convener and Professor & Head of the Department of Natural Science, extended a warm welcome, setting the tone for the enlightening session ahead.

3. **Inaugural Address & Association Inauguration:**
Dr. A.V. Sujith, the esteemed Principal of GCTE, delivered an insightful inaugural address, officially inaugurating the Natural Science Association. His words resonated, highlighting the pivotal role of education institutions in spreading awareness and fostering community engagement.

4. **Felicitation:**
Dr. M. Omanasheelan, Professor & Head of the Department of English, graced the occasion and offered felicitations, underscoring the interdisciplinary nature of the fight against HIV/AIDS.

5. **College Union Chairman's Address:**
Amal R., the College Union Chairman, shared encouraging words, affirming the student body's support and commitment to the cause.

6. **Resource Talk:**
Arya Raj R., a Senior Lecturer from Sivagiri, Sreenarayana Medical Mission College of Nursing, Varkala, delivered an informative and thought-provoking talk, shedding light on the current landscape of HIV/AIDS, preventive measures, and the importance of community involvement.

7. **Student Participation and Contribution:**
Aslamiya N.S., the Student Convener, along with Ganga BS and Bijitha B R, both from the 1st B.Ed. Natural Science, played a pivotal role in organizing and actively participating in the event, demonstrating exemplary leadership and commitment to raising awareness.

8. **Vote of Thanks:**
A heartfelt vote of thanks was extended, acknowledging the collective efforts of everyone involved, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and dedication in such endeavors.

9. **Compering:**
The event was smoothly conducted by competent comperes, ensuring a seamless flow of the program.

**Ribbon Coupons Distribution:**
All participants were graciously provided with ribbon coupons, symbolizing solidarity and support for the cause of AIDS awareness.

**Conclusion:**
The event concluded with a shared sense of purpose and renewed dedication towards creating a more informed and compassionate society in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The General Hall inbert Thycaud, TVPM, served as the venue, fostering an atmosphere of collective learning and commitment to a cause larger than oneself.

**Hope for an AIDS DNA Cure:**
The program echoed the collective hope for advancements in research, aiming for a future where an AIDS DNA cure becomes a reality, alleviating the suffering caused by this global health challenge.

The Natural Science Association expresses gratitude to all participants, speakers, and contributors for their unwavering support and active participation in making the World AIDS Day Awareness Program a resounding success.
